Ed Research Works focuses its efforts on many types of projects:
  • Research Communication: Synthesizing and translating specific or broad evidence into meaningful takeaways and actionable insights
  • Research Capacity-Building: Developing resources to increase education stakeholders' ability to access and consume research
  • Research Design: Developing and guiding research studies, research agendas, or research strategy to ensure evidence is understood and translated into action

Exemplars

Current and past projects concretely illustrate Ed Research Works' objectives and impact.
For example, research communication series IgnitED Research,
aims to build stronger connections between learning science and instructional practice.
The Learning Accelerator's Measurement Fellowship mobilized a diverse group of individuals working at the nexus of research and practice to generate field-friendly, evidence-based resources to improve effective implementation of blended learning instructional strategies.
Advisory roles, such as with SXSW EDU, and the US ED Office of Educational Technology's Rapid Cycle Evaluation Coach, build capacity among educators for using research in their daily work.

Engagement

Ed Research Works is guided in all projects by the following principles:
  • Attention: we limit the number of concurrent projects to ensure each one gets the care and attention it is worth.
  • Belief: we operate from the premise that all learners can achieve their potential, and that the answers to what works best for whom and under what conditions lie in evidence.
  • Communication: we communicate transparently, clearly, and frequently throughout a project - from proposals to final deliverables, and everything in between.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: we approach each project with an anti-racist lens to prioritize learners, change systems, and redistribute privilege, one project at a time.
  • Fun: we love data, evidence, and research and we especially love making data/evidence/research work for you!
